Injustices against women & the laws against them!!

Here are 8 frequent injustices that take place, especially against women, and the laws against them:

• Eve Teasing: Sections 294 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) prohibit any individual or group of people pass any kind of offensive comment or execute any such gesture towards a girl of any age

• Child Marriage: This is not just for girls. However, the incidents reported indicate towards the underage girls. The Child Marriage Restraint Act, 1929, prohibits a girl who is not 18 (age defined by the Hindu Marriage Act) to get married

• Improper Police Procedure: Under the high court directive, every police station must have a lady officer, not of a post below that of Head Constable, available round-the-clock and the police shall also help the victim of sexual assault of any degree with counseling assistance and a woman cannot be arrested before sunrise or after sunset, however, exceptions can be made under the directive of the magistrate

• Minimum Wage: According to the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, the Government of India has set minimum wages for every section of profession that must be paid to any skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers. 

• Succession of Property: Under the clause of the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, any person who is entitled to be the heir of a property of ancestor, should get the property regardless of gender

• Dowry: Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, says that if any one gives or receives or even helps the exchange, he or she will face a jail term five years or more and a fine of Rs 15,000 or the sum of dowry, whichever is more

• Domestic Violence: This falls under Section 498A of the IPC. According to this law, any person can complain about any incident where a family member has offended him or her cruelly or with the intention of cruelty. This law is applicable for or against any member regardless of gender

• Offensive Propaganda: The Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986, prohibits any individual or organisation to publish or help post, publish, exhibit or advertise – online or offline – any kind of representation of women that can be considered to be indecent.

Grilled Chicken Cheese Sandwich!!

Everyone loves grilled sandwhiches, but very few of us try making it at home as we think it’s not easy to bring the flavours right.  But no need to worry anymore, today I am giving you the easiest recipe of preparing sandwiches at home in minutes, that too the chicken one.

Let’s get started 😍

Ingredients :

• Chicken Sausage (Easily available in market) Use 1 sausage for each sandwich. 
• Cheese
• Tandoori mayonnaise 
• Chopped Capsicum 
• Chopped tomatoes
• Chopped onion
• Chopped Green chilli 
• Red pepprika 
• Butter 
• Crushed black pepper 
• Salt (as per taste) 
• Green chutney (Optional)
• Tomato ketchup 
• Bread 🥪 (Ofcourse) Take the bigger size of sandwich bread, available in market. 

Preparations :

1. Chop chicken sausage into small pieces. 
2. Heat half tbsp oil in a pan, when oil is heated, add sausages to it (Keep flame on medium)
3. Add crushed black pepper and salt to it (as per taste)
4. Fry sausages for 3-4 minutes then turn the stove off.
5. Sausages are ready, keep them aside. 
6. Spread mayonnaise on one side of bread (Try using the same tandoori mayonnaise,  I have shown in the picture, it adds a very good flavour to the sandwich)
   
7. Now add all the chopped vegis on top of bread. 
8. If you are using Coriander chutney, you can spread it before adding vegis.
9. Now add cooked chicken sausages on top of  vegetables. 
10. Add a cube of grated cheese to it.
    
11. Add little bit of tomato ketchup. 
12. Now, heat the griller, and once it is heated, apply oil/butter to it. If you don’t have a sandwich griller, you can also grill sandwich on grill tava.
13. Put sandwich on griller for 2-3 minutes and the sandwich is ready.
14. Serve hot with Ketchup /green chutney. 
    

Laws and Rights, Every Indian should know!!

There’s nothing more empowering than knowing your country’s laws and Rights. You never know when you need to put them in use. Common laws, we all know but here I am letting you know few common, but still not so commonly known laws by many of us. Let’s take a look. 

• Only female officers can escort women to the police station. 

• During arrest of a woman, She has all the rights to refuse to go to the police station between 6 pm to 6 am.

• Women can lodge complaints through emails.

• Live in relationships are not illegal in India. 

• If you have been fined once in a day for traffic rules violation, you maybe excused after that by showing your previous challan slip. 

• You don’t need to pay the MRP, you can buy for less. As consumers you have the right to bargain for a price below MRP.

• If you aren’t paid, File a complaint immediately : The Limitation act states that if you aren’t paid by someone who is contracted to pay you, you need to file a complaint within 3 years.

• If you have a son and you are looking to adopt another, well.. You can’t. The Hindu adoption and  maintenance act, 1956 prohibits you from doing so.

• No traffic violations for non motorised vehicles like golf cart, Bicycle, Rickshaw etc

• The tax  recovery officer can arrest and release you in case of tax violation, though a summon has to be sent first. The tax commissioner only decides the duration of your custody. 
  

• If your gas cylinder explodes, you are entitled to Rs. 40 lakh cover.
