Chicken Chop Tikka

The word Chop Tikka means bits, pieces or chunks. Chicken Chop Tikka is an easy-to-cook dish in which you will experience chicken chunks in every bite. Chicken Chop tikka is a delicious starter which you can serve with Green chutney or tomato ketchup or can even be served as Snacks with tea.



Here is a quick recipe for it



  • Boiled chicken
  • Boiled green peas
  • 1 Chopped onion
  • Chopped Coriander leaves
  • Chopped Spring leaves
  • Oregano
  • Shredded Ginger
  • Pinch of garam masala
  • Dry mango powder
  • lime juice
  • Salt
  • Pinch of red chili powder
  • Chopped green chili
  • Oil (For frying)
  • Butter


Step 1:

Take boiled chicken in a bowl and remove bones from it then mash it into small pieces.


Step 2:

Boil green peas and keep it aside.



Step 3:

Mix boiled peas with boiled and mashed chicken 


Step 4

Add chopped vegetables and spices to it which are mentioned in ingredient list.


Mix it well

Step 5:

Heat a pan and fry the chicken mixture in it using very less oil until color turns golden brown.


Step 6:

Let it cool for sometime then make small size tikka with it in any shape you want. 

I made two types, one round shaped and other in cylindrical shaped.

Step 7:

You can either pat fry tikkis on tava..if you opt for pat frying make sure you have mixed few Boiled potatoes to the chicken mixture in order to retain the shape.


Step 8:

You can also deep fry tikkis, for that apply a coat of egg or slurry to it.

Coat slurry first then deep fry:


While deep frying you can also apply a coat of bread crumbs to it if you want to make it crispy.

This one I pat fried on tava and added few white til on it. I also added few mashed boiled potatoes to the chicken mixture for pat frying on tava.


These are deep fried in oil using slurry coating in few and Slurry+ Bread crumbs coating in few in order to give variety to the platter.


One can opt any way of frying the Chop tikkas either Deep frying or Pat frying. It taste delicious in every way 🙂
