Review of the book “Reason to Live”

‘Reason to live ‘ is a fiction novel written by Kajol Aikat.  The plot of the novel is based on the story of a writer named’ Ravi’ who somehow fails to retain his success of being a best seller and got into depression leading to a suicide attempt. When he thought everything is finished in his life right from his fame to his motivation of writing, Destiny made him meet the love of his life, Dr Meera, a psychologist who helped Ravi recover from his depression.
Meeting Meera, Changed Ravi’s perception towards life, success and failure.  Soon both fell in love but as we all know life has its own plans. So, some really heart throbbing incidences happens in Ravi’s &  Meera’s life.  Will Ravi &  Meera  live happily ever after? Or Meera is hiding some dreadful secrets in her heart? These are few questions that happens to be the real turning point of the Novel.

This novel will clearly leave a long lasting impact on its readers mind, & with its true and pure emotions residing in Characters heart and well described situations by Mr Aikat, it would definitely embark something not to be forgotten easily by the readers. The story line and narration of the author is quite impressive but I do feel a few improvisation and alteration could prove to be a boon for the story. The non elaborated and not well explained version of narration while ending the story, or calling the Lead characters Father as “Father” instead of calling him  “baba” since the characters were Bengali was bit inquietude to me. Talking about the Nature of characters display in the novel, I found the transformation of Ravi’s (The main character of the story) attitude towards life and his Daughter a bit displeasing, It could be presented in a more prudent manner.

Overall with little bit scope of improvisation in mind I rate this novel with 4 stars.

But like I said it’s still holds a sweet little corner in my heart and I consider it as a good milestone in the author’s journey of writing. If you want to know anything more about the book, Sorry but you won’t get it here. For that you will have to buy it and feel the roller coaster experience of Emotions and love by yourself 🙂
